It’s hard to swim against the tide.
The flow toward power, prominence and platform.
The addiction to addition.
The fear of subtraction.
The ego hates to lose, even to God.
Yet, this is the way of Christ:
He emptied Himself.
The Creator in a manger.
The King on a cross.
The Centre of all things becomes subject to all things.
The Saviour descends for the sake of love.
This is the narrow path, the road less travelled:
We cast our crowns, forsake our privileges, relinquish position, share power, choose faithfulness over fame.
We crucify our false self and its craving for status; we free ourselves from the ego-centric pressure to perform; we become our true selves, empty yet full.
This is the kenotic journey; the way of Christ.
Very well articulated!
